Overview

In a recent study, employers stated that over 80% of their employees had problems using correct grammar and punctuation. This is disheartening as the appropriate use of grammar and punctuation is imperative for a reader’s comprehension and retention. This course, Grammar, Punctuation, Proofreading, & Documentation, examines essential rules and guidelines to improve the nuts and bolts of your writing. By applying the information from this course to your writing skills, you’ll be more qualified to analyze others’ writing as well as improve the clarity and quality of your own written documents.

Content Objectives

After completing Grammar, Punctuation, Proofreading, & Documentation, participants will:

  • Identify and avoid using misplaced and dangling modifiers;
  • Recognize misspelled and misused words;
  • Correct grammar and punctuation errors;
  • Apply guidelines for proofreading;
  • Eliminate punctuation and grammar taboos;
  • Conduct research to find evidence for written documents; and
  • Use an approved format for references.

Materials

Grammar, Punctuation, Proofreading, & Documentation utilizes an interactive structure with six sections (Multimedia Presentation, Readings, Questions & Answers, Resources, Implementation, and Respond). Engaging audio and visual components as well as printable materials are incorporated into the course.  A Certificate of Completion will be awarded.

Reading, Exercises, Implementation Plan, and Quiz.
